Nature Information Centers

The town of Nettetal is located in the Maas-Schwalm-Nette nature reserve and is characterized by an area rich in water and nature. It is therefore also called the city of lakes. Twelve lakes alone, as well as extensive forests and heathland in and around Nettetal, offer visitors a wide range of leisure and recreational opportunities.

In order to bring visitors closer to the interrelationships in nature, nature information centers offer numerous information as well as various possibilities to experience nature up close. The excursions to the Krickenbecker Seen biological station, for example, are very popular.

In the information center Krickenbecker Seen you will learn interesting facts about the biodiversity in the nature reserves of the nature park Maas-Schwalm-Nette. In addition to changing special exhibitions, a permanent exhibition shows the geological relationships and the formation of the Krickenbeckerseen. Nature conservation farm Nettetal

On a tour, the Nature conservation farm Nettetal offers an insight into the responsible use of nature by means of varied landscape designs. In addition to beautifully landscaped ponds, visitors will find a herb garden, a cottage garden and a blind bed, willow hedges and much more. A very special nature experience for the whole family. Another highlight of the nature conservation farm is an 8 meter high life tower, which offers birds and insects a habitat. The offer includes guided tours of the nature reserve.
