Thus, over the millennia, a number of legends and stories have emerged, some of which have survived to this day. Some legends date back to the times when the Teutons on the Rhine worshiped their natural gods, other tales were written in the Middle Ages, and still others are said to have originated from the fact that people had appearances or visions.
