Church services Kevelaer, The city of Kevelaer is one of the world’s most famous pilgrimage sites. Hundreds of thousands of believers and pilgrims visit the city on the Lower Rhine every year to pray in the Chapel of Mercy , the Candle Chapel or in the St. Mary’s Basilica, or to take part in one of the numerous church services.

A must for every believer, visitor and pilgrim is a visit to the Chapel of Mercy with its image of the Virgin Mary “Consolatrix Afflictorum”, “Comforter of the afflicted”. Here many believers ask Mary, the mother of Jesus, for help or intercession with God. Many also seek consolation here. And even if you are not a believer, you can feel the very special atmosphere that emanates from this place. The numerous sacrificial candles that are lit in the candle chapel also contribute to this.
