The Museum Kurhaus Kleve is located in the beautiful park “Neuer Tierpark Kleve” in the former building of the Kurhaus.

The Museum Kurhaus Kleve shows works of art from the Middle Ages to the art of the 20th century. The museum is one of the most renowned addresses for modern and contemporary art in North Rhine-Westphalia. In 2004 it was named “Museum of the Year” by the German section of the international art critic association AICA. It is housed in a listed building complex that was built in the 19th century. The foundation of the collection is the legacy of the sculptor, painter and graphic artist Ewald Mataré (1887-1965), who is one of the most important representatives of classical modernism in Germany.
