The roots of the Filmmuseum, which opened in Düsseldorf in 1993, go back to 1972.
The collections include objects and documents from more than 700 years of media history. on four floors and almost 2,000 square meters exhibition space it offers an insight into the fantastic (pre) history of cinema. In addition, the Film Museum on Schulstrasse in Düsseldorf offers its visitors numerous events as well as film screenings, guided tours and workshops. The museum also invites you to try it out. For example, you can practice film editing on the assembly wall. It also shows some tricks of filmmaking.
