On the Lower Rhine, riders will find a well-signposted network of riding trails with a length of more than 1,000 kilometers that leads through various landscapes. The length of the individual riding trails varies greatly. For details, please refer to the respective versions. However, most bridle paths have one thing in common. They mostly lead through regions rich in nature and with little traffic. If you want to experience a guided tour, there are also a variety of options to choose from.

There are also special regulations for riding in public spaces. For example, riding in the forest is only allowed on designated bridle paths. Riding on bike and hiking trails is strictly prohibited. Riding in nature reserves is mostly prohibited, but there are many exceptions to this prohibition, but these only apply to designated areas and bridle paths. Furthermore, riders need a riding license plate with a valid annual badge, which must be applied for by the keeper of the horse at the lower landscape authority of his place of residence.
