The Nette Lakes premium hiking trail is located in the Maas-Schwalm-Nette Nature Park in Nettetal in the region of the Lower Rhine.

Over a length of around 12 kilometers, the hiking trail offers a wide variety of insights into the beautiful natural landscape on the Lower Rhine. Here you can i.a. See a wide variety of birds such as gray herons, great crested grebes as well as wild geese and other water birds. The hiking trail is also an experience in all seasons.

Nette Lakes Hiking Trail

Along the hiking trail 9 “Nice Lakes”, which is well signposted and laid out as a circular route, you will find numerous insights into the natural landscape of the Lower Rhine as well as restaurants and cafes with a sun terrace in summer. There are also 2 campsites along the route, as well as a mini golf course and a riding stables. Not to be forgotten is the Nettetal nature reserve and the Baerlo landscape courtyard.

The highlight of the hiking trail, however, is nature with its flora and fauna. The so-called bittern project with its observation tower and various water birds is particularly beautiful. With a bit of luck you will see great crested grebes, coots, wild geese or even cormorants and ducks. Furthermore, there are many plants and plants that are typical of the water landscape. Since the hiking trail is designed as a circular route, you can start at several points. You can find parking spaces on Lobbericher Strasse in Nettetal Lobberich and on De Wittsee or Sassenfeld.
