How to get there: Coming from the A61 motorway, take the Jackerath exit and follow the signs to the viewing platform. There you can comfortably park and go to the Skywalk (this is video-monitored). For those who are not afraid of heights, the view from the parking lot of the opencast mine is impressive. So you can see the various huge excavators, the conveyor belts and the individual layers in the ground. what is possible with today’s technology is both impressive and frightening.
