Emmerich’s flagship and popular excursion destination on the Lower Rhine is the Rhine promenade in Emmerich. From the Rhine promenade you have a wonderful view of the river, the city and the Rhine bridge. On top of that there are some bronze sculptures by the artist Levetzow that are well worth seeing. If you walk the promenade along the Rhine in the direction of the Rhine Bridge, you will automatically come to the St. Martini Church, one of the structural remains from the time when Emmerich was still a Hanseatic city.
