Ballooning in the Lower Rhine region, before you get a little closer to the sky, the balloon must be filled with warm air, because only then will it lift off the ground. Once all the preparations have been made and all the balloonists have climbed into the wicker basket, nothing stands in the way of the fascinating adventure. Carried by the wind, most balloonists enjoy the calm and the feeling of freedom at lofty heights. Would you like to experience a balloon flight on the Lower Rhine and see the landscape from a bird’s eye view? You have various options on the Lower Rhine.
The balloon ride:
Fast, but almost imperceptibly, the balloon gains height after takeoff and finally offers a fantastic view of the beautiful Lower Rhine landscape. Meadows, fields and forest areas are peppered with rivers and lakes, and are occasionally interrupted by some farms and settlements.
The direction in which the balloon travels is determined solely by the wind, but as a result of the fact that different air currents prevail at different heights, the balloon pilot can have a little influence on the direction and speed.
The Lower Rhine shows its most beautiful sides during a balloon flight over the region. But at some point the nicest excursion is over and the balloon lands on the largest possible area. Shortly after landing, the equipment must first be stowed in the support vehicles before the balloonists newcomers are due to be baptized.
Note: Balloon rides are completely dependent on wind and weather. Due to safety aspects, balloon rides are only carried out in suitable and safe weather conditions. Instructions of the pilot must be followed.
