The stone-built windmill is one of the oldest on the Lower Rhine. It was built in the 13th century and rebuilt after a fire in 1827.

Today the mill is used as an exhibition room and a lookout tower. A permanent exhibition shows the history of the wooden shoe trade and can be visited either on the weekend or by appointment. For some time now, couples have also been able to get civil weddings in the Hohe Mühle.
