Ringenberg Castle, built around 1200 as a moated castle, was rebuilt as a castle in the Dutch baroque style after it was destroyed.
The round corner towers are among the architectural highlights of the palace. Today the castle belongs to the town of Hamminkeln and was leased to promote artists (the Derik-Baegert Society’s artist studios have been housed in the castle since 1978). Civil weddings in the castle are also very popular. There is also a restaurant in the vaulted cellar of the castle.
