Moyland Castle is one of the most beautiful castle complexes in the region of the Lower Rhine and is well worth seeing.

In the past, the unique neo-Gothic palace complex served as the residence of princes and nobles. Today Moyland Castle belongs to the foundation of the same name. In the course of time, the buildings of the palace received various structural changes.
Today’s appearance with its towers and battlements was created in the 19th century. Since 1997 Moyland Castle has housed the former private art collection of the van der Grinten brothers, which is unique with its numerous works by Joseph Beuys. Also worth seeing is the castle park with its moats, avenues and beautiful flower beds as well as sculptures in the park. Not to be forgotten is the great herb garden.

History: First mentioned in a document in the 14th century, the castle underwent numerous changes in its history, most recently the building was renovated from 1990 to 1997

Events: The Museum Schloss Moyland Foundation offers an interesting program of events every year. One of the highlights of the event calendar is the annual artisan Christmas market. – Art exhibitions as well as numerous cultural events and events in the museum
Specials: Palace Park – In the historic palace and gardens there are moats, avenues and beautiful flower beds and sculptures. A herb garden is also part of the park. / The museum café offers coffee and cake as well as snacks, hot meals and sandwiches during museum opening times. / The Museum Moyland Castle shows drawings, paintings, sculptures and photographs by the artist Joseph Beuys.
