Numerous events and festivals in the region of the Lower Rhine attract visitors to the region. Among these events are city festivals, marksmen’s festivals and funfairs, music concerts, theater performances, trade fairs and more.

Tourism & Leisure Fair Niederrhein (Tourismus- & Freizeitmesse Niederrhein), in Kalkar more than 200 exhibitors present a lot about vacation and travel in the region of the Lower Rhine.

Carnival on the Rhine (Karneval am Rhein), The carnival session in the region of the Lower Rhine begins every year on November 11th. at 11.11 a.m. The highlight are the Shrove Monday Processions in the cities and communities.

Funfair Düsseldorf (Rheinkirmes Düsseldorf), the largest fun fair on the Rhine takes place on the Rhine meadows in Düsseldorf Oberkassel.

Japan Day with fireworks (Japan Tag mit Feuerwerk), every year the Japan Day takes place with a varied program in Düsseldorf. The highlight of the festival is the Japanese fireworks.

Lower Rhine cycling day (Niederrheinischer Radwandertag), on the first Sunday in July the big cycling festival takes place on the Lower Rhine and offers cyclists more than 50 well-marked circular routes
